Day 4 - God will supply all your needs according to the riches of His glory

Today we met a wonderful Honduran family - a widow and her four young children. The only form of provision she has for her family is a small snack and soda shop she runs out of the front her house. And I use the word “shop” very loosely. It’s more like a few sodas and snacks sold out of the kitchen window. We were able to bless their humble 4 room home with a cement floor in the main room. We got to play and talk with the children and share God’s love and the hope we find in Him with them too. It was tough to tell her to trust in God, the owner of all things, who will not forget her and provide for her needs, when she literally doesn’t know where their next meal is coming from. It was amazing to see her quiet strength and determination to raise her children out of poverty with an education and a future. It was such a blessing and refreshing to see children laugh and play despite the dire conditions they live in. At the end of the day they thanked us and prayed for us which was amazing too. They are blessed to have a close knit family and joy and peace despite the lack of material things. My friend nurse Shannon was right - the most valuable things in life can not be bought.
